A Day for Retired Print

Each Wednesday (in term time) around 50 people meet for coffee and chat at 10:30am – this is the start of the ‘Day for the Retired’.  Later, most join in an hour of physical activities (standing and/or seated) which is fun and most beneficial to body and mind!  A simple lunch is served (small charge) and there’s time for fellowship over another cuppa.  We conclude with a half hour service in church – a relaxed format, usually with a speaker, prayer and song.

Membership is open to anyone aged 60 + who likes to be with others in a caring and convivial environment.  The team who ‘make the day happen’ are all members of Church Lane Evangelical Church.

There is a ‘Holiday at Home’ for three days in August/September when different activiites (out & about, crafts, quizes, music and games) are enjoyed in a holiday atmosphere without the need to travel or stay away from home.
